MEET MRS. HANDWORK

Hello and welcome to my classroom! My name is Mrs. Handwork, and I am absolutely delighted to be back teaching second grade at St. Paul Catholic School this year. This marks my 31st year in the teaching profession, and I can honestly say that my enthusiasm is as strong today as it was on my very first day in the classroom. Having spent the last six years at St. Paul, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our school community, and I’m eager to inspire my students just as I have in the past. I hold a teaching certificate from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Reading from Wayne State University which fuels my passion for lifelong learning. As a lifelong resident of Grosse Pointe I cherish the experiences I’ve had growing up here, including my time at St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School and Grosse Pointe South High School. Besides my college years and a few years in Colorado, Grosse Pointe has always been my home. Currently, I reside in Grosse Pointe Farms with my wonderful husband, Pete, our three amazing children—Caden, a Sports Journalist, Phoebe, a Junior at MSU, and Whitney, a Senior at GPS—and our two beloved dogs, Hazel and Bentley. I am truly looking forward to this school year, filled with new adventures and learning experiences for both myself and my students!
